Jane Baker, President
Jane is COO at Timebased, a creative, experience-driven events company based in central London. Timebased’s work includes press events, conferences, exhibitions, experiential activations and awards shows and they’ve worked with brands including M&S, Amazon, NBCUniversal, Omega, Virgin Media, Glamour and GQ. Over the last 15 years, Jane has held senior positions in some of the world’s leading events agencies including George P. Johnson and CWT Meetings & Events, leading major strategic accounts and multi-functional teams. After becoming a member of MPI UK & Ireland in 2010, Jane joined the board to lead education in 2013, becoming President in 2016.
Richard Parker, Immediate Past President
Richard Allchild CMP, President-Elect
Richard is currently the Sales Manager for the IMEX Group. Richard has worked at IMEX since 2008 and looks after clients from the USA, Caribbean, Cruise Lines and Europe for both IMEX America and IMEX in Frankfurt. Richard graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with a BA Hons in History before working for Haymarket Publications in both their London and New York offices. Richard has been a member of MPI for 8 years, volunteering on the membership committee for 2 years before being on the Board for the past 3 years.
Natasha Keesoony, Vice President – Membership
Natasha is currently Hosted Buyer Programme Manager for The Meetings Show, an annual exhibition for the meetings industry based in the UK which sees over 3,000 industry professionals gathering in London for the show. Natasha is responsible for the overall management and successful delivery of the Hosted Buyer programme, her role involves building relationships with industry peers and securing third party group coordinators through business development activities and successful implementation of the hosted buyer recruitment campaign.
Natasha has been a member of MPI since January 2017. Prior to this, Natasha has been involved with MPI since 2012, having attended various MPI networking and education events including UK and Ireland Chapter events, economic outlook education sessions and EMEC conferences.
Adam Said, Deputy Vice President – Membership
Adam is a passionate and driven business innovator with a strong belief in the power of technology and ideas generation to bring about effective solutions in a wide range of industries and business sectors. He is currently Account Manager and event technology lead at TFI Group, where he daily explores the challenges surrounding the essential applications of technology in an era of global business expansion. Having worked in some of the industry’s leading organisations such as IMEX Group, Reed Exhibitions and Haymarket he knows how to look carefully at what is and what isn’t driving many organisations to run events in increasingly far-flung overseas locations.
Adam has been involved with MPI since 2011 and has an excellent reputation for understanding organisational event needs and proposing cost-effective solutions some of which are driven or supported by user-friendly technology
Sue Massey, Vice President – Education
Sue Massey leads the global operations team for Grass Roots Meetings & Events, specialising in Strategic Meetings Management. Her experience spans over 25 years in the hospitality industry, initially working with major hotel groups heading account management & sales teams. For the last ten years she has been working for Grass Roots leading the account management and operations team. Sue is the VP for Education for the MPI UK&I and she also enjoys mentoring hospitality management students at Oxford Brookes University.
Sue enjoys running and spending time with her two teenage daughters!
Ciara Feely, Deputy Vice President – Education
Ciara Feely teaches an approach to the Conference & Meetings Market that has an impact on Market Share and Profitability.” (as quoted by John Simonich, Area Director IHG) Ciara has created a Sales & Marketing programme called Steps to WIN™. It’s a formula that shows hotels & venues how to win BIG in the conference market by helping them to see their business from their client’s point of view. This step by step system gets results such as “We doubled our sales in September 2016” with the Jumeirah Hotel Group.
She is the author of “Steps to WIN in the Meetings Market” a book that shows hotels & venues how to WIN more market share and be leaders in the sales process. She teaches all over the world via her training website and interactive webinars and in-person workshops.
Ciara was an Agent for ten years (and an hotelier before that for ten years) and brings the client perspective to the table.
Ciara is a new member of MPI. She partnered with the Education Board two years ago and is the industry expert leading the new Venue Sales Certificate Program just launched by MPI. She is proud to be the first person to bring specialised education to the MPI events worldwide for hotel, venue & agency partners.
Deborah Kelly, Vice President – Marketing & Communications
Deborah handles international events and conventions for London from the UK market. She works with leading event agencies to unlock London for events and experiential brand activations, and also supports our Partners by helping to secure even more award-winning international business events for London. An MPI Board Member, Deborah joined London & Partners in 2014 from Marketing Manchester where she spent seven years working within both the marketing and business tourism teams.
Judy Elvey, Deputy Vice President – Marketing & Communications
Judy is a strategic, CIM qualified marketing professional with experience in publishing, hospitality and leisure industries. Judy started her career in advertising but quickly moved to marketing. She has over 15 years’ experience in the events industry, having worked as an event organiser, at a venue and for key industry publishers, Mash Media and Square Meal. Currently working for Cvent as a Senior Marketing Manager, Judy is passionate about all things events, whether she is organising them, marketing them or supplying the industry with tools to execute fantastic events! She was part of the launch team for The Meetings Show as well as launching The Exhibition News Awards for Mash Media. Judy has been a member of MPI for many years, this is her second year sitting on the MPI board.
